They tortured me to obtain money from my family. They broke my left hip and I couldn’t move. I was kept in these conditions, slumped over myself, for 10 months. Then, they put me on a raft one day but the motor broke after just a few hundred meters and we drifted into Tunisian waters. We were found by a group of armed Libyans who caught up to us, beat us, and tried to tow us to Libya. Yet, our boat was too heavy and we were abandoned. We were eventually spotted by a helicopter and rescued by an Open Arms ship.
