My body is massacred because when I was six years old I was victim of an attack. These men wanted to exterminate my family, which they managed to do. They poured petrol on me, locked me in a car, and burnt me. I do not know how I managed to survive. The right part of my body now is just a big scar, and I cannot use my arm. I was in a coma for a long time. They killed my mother, my father and I don’t know what happened to my four brothers. I remained alone, and the way I looked like did not help me. People were scared of me, they were revolted by my sight. So I have been living on the fringe. I was sleeping where I could and eating what I could find in the streets. When I decided to escape, I knew it would not have been easy but I did not know it would have been so hard. I stayed in Libya for eight months, two of which in jail in Zawia. They kidnapped me to obtain a ransom. I did not have any money nor did I know anyone whom I could call to help me to collect it. That is why they let me go. Actually I was not able to work for them. Nevertheless, I have been tortured every day during all these months. They would come and beat me up, though they knew I did not have any money to give them. I thought that this time I would not have survived.
