I was detained in a prison near Tripoli for 6 months. At one point, the guards asked me about my skills and I told them I had been a construction worker. They gave me a day trial and brought me, along with some other friends, to work with them everyday since. We would work everyday side by side. They never paid us for our labor. One day, one of the boys was too tired to work and told the guards he couldn\u2019t stand up. One of the Libyans responded, \u201cif you don\u2019t come I\u2019ll shoot\u201d. I thought he was joking and so did my friend but the Libyan man killed him with a shot to the head. Then he turned to me and said: \u201cWhat are you going to do? Are you going to work or not?\u201d This happened two weeks ago. Shortly after, a group of armed men raided the prison and freed us prisoners. I was able to escape and reach the sea. I departed soon after.<\/p>\n
